Artist's Statement

The materials used in my mixed media images consist of ordinary fragments of daily living from some different countries. I feel these collages and assemblages are not just my doing. They are to honor the work of anyone under the Philippine sun who ever pounded a banana bark; or any of my fellow-Indians who ever carved and stamped a woodblock print; or any child anywhere tracing a finger along a plant fiber that might one day become natural paper and reach someone on the other side of the world. It's part of our history and geography. We belong to it and it to us. That's all.
